Northcoast

Textile and paper collage series

The series „Northcoast“ is inspired by a journey to the Spanish north-coast especially Cantabrian Sea and Biskaia during summer 2022. Here the wild and untamed power of nature, the being in contact with the elements of earth, sand, water, wind and the warming sun can be experienced in its purest form. The constant alternations of sun and rain, heat and cold, dryness and humidity, the whistling of the wind and the swoosh of the ocean, the lush green of the meadows, the warm colours of the soft sand, the earthy tones of the rugged rocks, the turquoise and blue tones of the foaming sea and the wide sky streaked with cloudy landscapes bring immediate sensual experiences and awake feelings of reverence but also of deep connection with nature as our origin. The emotions that this place provokes are just as rich in contrast as the landscape itself, its intensity stirs and invigorates, shakes you awake, but also lets you breath deeply and find serenity about the pure being in the moment.

The „Northcoast“ series of 6 original artworks includes both paper and textile collages. There is a limited edition of 25 hand-signed fine-art Giclée prints of the paper collages available in A3.
